On June 3rd, we held Rock The Farm on our Herefordshire farm and welcomed over 1000 drinks industry friends from all over the world to celebrate the return of the event after 5 years.
The farm was most definitely rocked with a lively music line up of bands and DJs playing into the night. Visitors could also enjoy an array of local food vendors, industry expert masterclasses from the likes of Fever Tree and Healthy Hospo and of course, sample some delicious Chase cocktails. They were also able to learn all about our unique field to bottle process through distillery and farm tours.
The main, highly anticipated event at the festival was the final of the Chase Cup, a global cocktail competition pulling in 13 talented finalists from far and wide to shake, stir and pour it out to become the winner of £2500 cash, a guest ambassadorship at BCB Brooklyn or Berlin and a year’s supply of Chase spirits.
Each competitor was given their allotted time in front of the esteemed judges Simon Difford, Merlin Griffiths, Tim Ethrington-judge and Sandrae Lawrence with our very own James Chase presenting.
After two rounds of re-creating their original entries and a mystery box, George Cook of Dinner by Heston in Melbourne was crowned the winner of the Chase Cup 2019! His serve ‘Wax Apples’ won the hearts, minds and palates of the judges to secure his space in the final 3, alongside Alex Ko – Draft Land HK, Hong Kong and David Mor – Cindy’s Rooftop, Chicago. Finally, Matt Birks of The Edgbaston, Birmingham was awarded a beautiful Bonzer apron for best personality!
